Packing AdvicePacking can be an art form, and we're here to help you master it. Explore our packing tips to ensure your cherished items make the journey to your new home unscathed. Packing Breakables Like a Pro Packing breakables can be a nerve-wracking task, but with the right approach, you can keep your fragile items safe during the move. Here are 10 detailed tips to help you pack breakables like a pro: 1. Gather the Right Supplies: • Start by collecting sturdy boxes in various sizes. • You'll need packing paper, bubble wrap, foam sheets, packing peanuts, and packing tape. 2. Prepare Your Workspace: • Set up a clean, spacious area to work in. • Lay out all your packing materials for easy access. 3. Sort and Organize: • Group your breakable items by size and fragility. • Separate delicate items like glassware, porcelain, and ceramics from sturdier ones. 4. Wrap Individual Items: • Begin with the most delicate items. Wrap each piece in packing paper or bubble wrap. • For extra protection, use foam sheets for particularly fragile items. 5. Use Dividers: • Consider using cardboard dividers inside boxes for glassware or stemware. • These dividers prevent items from touching and potentially chipping or breaking. 6. Fill Empty Spaces: • Fill the bottom of each box with packing peanuts or crumpled packing paper. • Insert wrapped items into the box, ensuring a snug fit to prevent shifting. 7. Layer with Care: • Place a layer of packing paper or bubble wrap between each item in the box. • Add more packing material on top of the items to create a cushion. 8. Seal Boxes Securely: • Use strong packing tape to seal the boxes securely. • Reinforce the corners and edges for extra strength. 9. Label Boxes Clearly: • Clearly mark the boxes as "Fragile" on all sides. • Include a brief description of the contents, so you know what's inside each box.
